Google’s Android 11 (R) is the 11th-iteration of Android OS that has been released officially on September 08, 2020. It’s the successor version of the last year’s Android 10 (Q) which mostly featured the privacy & security functionalities. However, things have changed now and this time the Android 11 has arrived with a bunch of additional features, other system improvements, UI changes, and more.

The latest Android OS version offers much-awaited Google Play System Updates via the Play Store, Smart Reply, Scheduled Dark Mode, improved privacy & security features, improved one-time app permissions & auto-reset permissions, a full-new redesigned system UI elements, redesigned power menu, redesigned music player control, and more. Features of Android 11

Check out some of the most useful Android 11 features below in brief.

  2. Notification History: As the title suggests, the Notification History basically allows users to keep tracking on the incoming notifications within the 24 hours timeframe. So, even if you’ve missed out on any important notification or cleared the notification by mistake, there is a way for you to review it.

  3. New Power Menu: By long-pressing the power button on the Android 11 running devices, users will now see a huge improvement as well as a huge visual change in the Power Menu interface. While the Emergency, Restart, and Power On/Off option shifted to the upper side, the middle screen offers you Google Pay or any other Online Pay Wallet system followed by all the connected smart home devices via Google Home.

  4. Redesigned Music Player: Now, the Music Player interface has been shifted to the upper side inside the quick shortcut toggle bar of the notification panel. Previously, the music player interface/control was appearing along with the notifications that wasn’t that intuitive.

  2. In-Built Screen Recorder: Android 11 now offers an in-built screen recorder option on the quick shortcut toggle of the notification panel. Just swipe down the notification panel and start using it. You can also use record audio, show touches on the screen while recording the screen easily.

  3. Smart Device Control: Right from the all-new Power Menu interface, users can simply turn on/off and manage all the connected smart home devices via the Google Home.

  4. One-time App Permissions & Auto-Reset: The much-awaited one-time app permission feature simply allows you to grant or deny the access permission for any app which is important. Additionally, you can select the app permission While using the app only or select once for this time only. Whereas the Auto-Reset option will automatically revoke the granted app permissions from the device if the app not used for a long time.

  5. Scheduled Dark Theme: Now, the Android 11 users can easily set a time to enable or disable the Dark Mode on their devices. Either user can set a custom time or simply set the sunset to the sunrise mode for the automatic process.

  6. Google Play System Update: Google has been working on the Project Mainline for a while and finally the Google Play System Update feature has arrived on Android 11. That means now Google can easily push all the latest and major security patch updates to all the Android 11 running devices without any interference of smartphone OEMs framework & system applications. The update will be pushed via the Play Store.

  7. Pin Apps to Share Menu: All the Android 11 users can easily pin their preferred apps to the share menu easily. That means whenever they want to share something from the sharing menu, the manually pinned apps will be visible there to use. Cool! Isn’t it?

  8. Smart Reply: Google’s Android 11 OS can easily detect and suggest all the possible replies according to the incoming messages whether it’s a text message or a chat message using the Google Keyboard. It’s just like a template format in order to quickly send a reply to a message without typing or thinking too much.
